How to Install Adobe Flex Builder Plugin in Eclipse

If you are new to the Flex development and, you have an Eclipse IDE in your PC then you can start your flex development in Eclipse IDE itself by installing adobe flex builder plugin in eclipse IDE. Here is the simple steps to add adobe flex builder plugin in eclipse.

note : Adobe Flex builder 3.0.2 plugin only supports  Eclipse 3.2.2 or Eclipse 3.3. So download Eclipse 3.2.2 or Eclipse 3.3 and integrate Flex builder plugin with eclipse.( Adobe didn’t release Flex plugin to support higher versions or latest versions of Eclipse, so try to install Flex plugin with Eclipse 3.2.2 or Eclipse 3.3).

Before continuing your Flex plugin installation complete your eclipse IDE installation as well download form adobe site.

Step 1: Start your Flex plugin installation by login in your PC with administrator privileges.

Step2: By click on ok button to continue your installation.

Step3: Close all opened browser and check terms and conditions check box, then click on Next button to continue your installation.

 Step4: Choose your custom installation folder or else leave default installation folder, then click on next button to continue your installation.

Step5: Now choose Eclipse root folder like one in the below picture and also check configuration sub-folder in the  Eclipse root folder, if configuration sub folder is not present there create configuration sub folder in the  Eclipse root folder, and then click on Next button to continue.

Step6: Check all the check boxes like one in the below picture to continue your installation.

Step7:  Check the installation configuration settings in the below picture, then click on next button to continue.

Step8:  Now all the configuration files are installing so wait for few seconds to complete.

Step9: You have successfully installed Adobe Flex Plugin 3.0.2. in Eclipse IDE.

Step11: Start your Adobe Flex builder Eclipse launcher in the Start Menu under Adobe.

note:  If you run first time the Flex Builder 3, you must “Run as Admin”, after which you can run it normally. To run as Admin, right click the Adobe Flex Builder 3 Eclipse Launcher launch icon in the Start Menu, select “Run As,” and then specify a user with administrator privileges.

Step12: In the top menu bar select Window — > Open Perspective — > Other –> Flex Development.

Step14: Now new window will  prompted, and ask you to enter your serial number or choose the Trial option. By clicking on trial option to finish the installation.
